BOARD OF TRUSTEES
The Board of Trustees (BOT) is a 6-man team appointed by the Executive Bureau of the Foundation made up of persons of high social, economic, moral and professional standings capable of fostering the mission and vision of the foundation. These are individuals whose track records demonstrate their ability to garner both technical and financial resources capable of building, enhancing and promoting an international reputation for the foundation.They have the prerogative of selecting beneficiaries for the Foundation’s activities in strict accordance to laid down internal eligibility criteria. The decisions of the Board of Trustees are final and irrevocable.
Stanley Enyih
DELEGATE OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEESStanley is an Engineer by profession but a humanitarian by heart. He serves as the Director of AOP, a multinational corporation doing a great job in the sustainable development of Africa. He also doubles as the Director of TCEC, another multinational corporation engaged in similar sustainable development projects in the Caribbeans. In the execution of his diverse roles across Africa, the Americas, Caribbean and Asia, he has come across thousands of underprivileged persons in need of just a little help to be able to secure a better future. His empathy for the needs of others fuels his passion for charity.
Yenla Gillian
SECRETARY OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEESWith a B.Sc. in Law, Yenla has devoted herself in the defense of the voiceless in many humanitarian organizations. She brings with her, her expertise in the domain of human rights and serves the foundation in providing legal advice and in the formulation of emancipation programs for the underprivileged.
Wycliffe Smith
MEMBER OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEESBorn on Saba, the smallest island with the tallest peak in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Wycliffe Smith has filled many positions during his educational, ecclesiastical and political career.
He studied in The Netherlands to become a teacher and taught for several years at all levels of education: from pre-primary to higher education. Smith received a study grant from the Central Government of the now defunct Netherlands Antilles to study Educational Administration and Curriculum Supervision at Teachers College, Columbia University in New York. After obtaining two Master Degrees from this prestigious institution, Smith was appointed Inspector of Education and subsequently Director of Education of the Dutch Windward Islands, namely Sint Maarten, Saba and St. Eustatius. Smith also functioned as an advisor to the Island Government of Sint Maarten on matters pertaining to education and culture. His professional educational career culminated with his appointment as President of the University of St Martin.
Mr. Wycliffe Smith, started his ecclesiastical career as a cleaner of his church. Some of the positions that he filled were: Sunday School Superintendent, band and choir director, church administrator, youth leader, lay preacher and Chairman of the Deacon Board. Smith crowned his ecclesiastical career by serving as pastor of the church for 14 years.
Smith's career in political governance started with his appointment as Lt. Governor of the island of his birth, Saba. Many years later, after retiring as pastor, Smith decided to start his own political party which earned one seat in the last parliamentary election of Sint Maarten in 2018. Smith represented his party in parliament for three months before taking up the position of Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Culture, Youth and Sport. Eventually Smith was appointed Prime Minister of Sint Maarten until November 2019, when new elections were called.
ANNE ENYIH
MEMBER OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEESAnne ENYIH brings in over 7 years of experience in the telecommunications industry but most importantly a great passion to impact lives through the education and health sectors; she will be helping to shape our vision, develop strategies, review results and set the overall direction of the foundation.
In July 2010, Anne obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunication through the Sino Cameroun scholarship Program, during which she proved her resilience and sharp intellect. She further moved on to pursue a dual master’s degree program from University Catholique de Lovain-La-Neuve (Belgium) and Politecnico di Torino after being awarded for the prestigious European Erasmus Mundus Scholarship program. She holds a MSc in Electronics and Electrical Engineering.
Anne currently lives with her husband and two children in Paris and works as a 5G Software integration Engineer with NOKIA Paris Saclay.
Amabo Bih Afanwi Tracy
MEMBER OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEESAmabo Bih Afanwi Tracy is a trained legal analyst and human rights activist who holds an M.A in International Relations (Public diplomacy) and Law. As a young women’s advocate, Afanwi is actively engaged in development initiatives that drive Africa’s economic growth and amplifies the role of women in achieving its sustainable development. Before joining Ndes Foundation team, Afanwi worked with a number of women empowerment and sustainable development organizations in Africa such as Women for A Change Cameroon (Wfac) where she was the Programs Assistant. Her passion for policy advocacy and youth leadership also motivated her to work with the Network for Solidarity, Empowerment and Transformation for All (NewSETA). She is dynamic, purpose driven and enthusiastic about impacting the lives of women and girls.
Omozaphue Akalumhe
MEMBER OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEESMr. Omozaphue William Akalumhe is aDirector and Board Member of PriVida Limited UK (and its subsidiaries in the USA, Cameroon and Nigeria), AOS Orwell Limited, XanFun Limited UK, ProXsure Limited UK, 3-D Hitech and a number of other companies. After about 30 years’ experience working in not-for-profit, consulting and energy, Omozaphue co-founded PriVida in 2013 to kick-start a renewable energy revolution in Africa. PriVida and its subsidiaries have now developed a project portfolio worth over $1.0 billion in West and Central Africa. Omozaphue’s previous experience include Senior/Executive level roles in Pan Ocean, Shell Upstream International, Accenture and Arthur Andersen. He was also Research Associate, Research Fellow and Research Assistant at various times at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) from 1986 to 1997. At Shell, Omozaphue was a key member of the transformation and business improvement team and was actively involved in driving change in Shell’s operating model in Africa. Also, Omozaphue was actively involved in the growth programmes of Pan Ocean Oil Corporation, including the eventual addition of new assets to the company’s portfolio. Omozaphue is a versatile, confident, accomplished, resourceful professional and strategic-thinking leader who brings credibility to the organization through his history of personal integrity, respect for people and professionalism. Omozaphue is passionate about protecting the environment through the deployment of renewable energy solutions and infrastructure projects aimed at fostering green living conditions. Omozaphue is well known for his expertise in managing people, processes, coaching/mentoring and organization transformation. Omozaphue Akalumhe studied at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria where he obtained his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees, specializing in resource management and marketing economics. Also, he holds and M.Sc. degree from the School of Management at Cranfield University, Omozaphue has completed several leadership and professional development programmes in South Africa, the United Kingdom (UK), Belgium, United States of America and Switzerland. He is a member of the Institute of Directors (IOD) of the United Kingdom.
